• The purpose and evolution of the System for Award Management (SAM) database 
• The contents and organization of SAM 
• The steps to register your business in SAM

Gaining an understanding of these databases will help you determine how well positioned your business is to compete successfully for government contracts. To receive an award you need more than just having the requested goods and services. You also need to be in compliance with the terms & conditions and regulations of the procurement.

Nancy Cleveland is a Procurement Counselor with the Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center (GTPAC) – Augusta Center, and certified CVE Verification Counselor.

She has more than 30 years’ experience in small business management and consulting with and for federal, state and local governments. Her experiences include project management; training and assisting small business owners navigate the government procurement and contracting processes. 

Ms. Cleveland has an EMBA from the University of New Haven, Connecticut and Bachelors in Business Administration from Clark College (CAU), Atlanta.
