Join the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce for a Day of Service with New Life Community Ministries. We will be assisting New Life Ministries with the following volunteer opportunities:

• Serve Hot Meals
• Food Pantry – distribute food boxes
• Clothing Store – assist clients in shopping and/or prepping incoming donated clothing
• Barbershop – do not have to be professional; do not need to know how to cut; we start you with cutting bald styles; two master barbers on site (we are always in need of barbers)
• Beauty Salon – do not have to be professional; we do not use chemicals; we wash hair, press, curl or braid (we are always in need of salon support)

Volunteer attire: casual to include pants/jeans and sneakers and long sleeves/T-shirt.

ABOUT NEW LIFE COMMUNITY MINISTRIES 

New Life Community Ministries (NLCM) is a faith-based, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that welcomes everyone regardless of their race, national origin, creed, or religion.  We exist to serve the homeless and the working poor in South DeKalb and surrounding communities. At the heart of our program model is committed and dedicated case managers. Our case managers work with clients to establish personal success goals and ongoing support in providing, GED, Career, and Homeless Prevention services. In conjunction with case management, NLCM offers wrap-around services comprised of hot meals, food pantry, clothing stores, and personal care services that include a barbershop, and a hair salon.

Our programs are designed to decrease homelessness by restoring hope, reviving dignity, and providing services that change lives.
